Asymmetrical eyebrows

What difference would you like to change?

One eyebrow may look wider, have a higher arch, or have a shorter tail. Before choosing a service, identify the specific difference that bothers you. Simply asking for matching eyebrows does not say whether you want to change the hairline, the intensity of the color, or the result of your everyday makeup.

Eyebrow shaping is planned around the hairs you have and your expectations. Removing the same amount of hair on both sides does not, by itself, guarantee an even appearance. Nor should you keep narrowing one eyebrow just to match the other if the latter was previously overplucked.

Discuss the outline first

Show which part of the eyebrow matters to you: the start, arch, lower edge, or tail. A photo of everyday makeup you like may help your brow specialist. Use a photo of someone else’s eyebrows to explain what you want, not as a promise that their look can be replicated exactly.

Before any hairs are removed, ask to see the proposed outline. Discuss which areas you want to keep fuller and which should be left alone. If you are unsure about the proposed shape, you can opt for a consultation or a temporary makeup look and decide later.

How do the available services differ?

Hair shaping, tinting, and lamination address different cosmetic goals. Shaping involves deciding which hairs to remove or trim; tinting changes the impression of color, while lamination helps reposition existing hairs. These services do not create new hairs where there are none.

Ask whether the price shown in your booking covers just one treatment or several services. You do not need to book tinting or lamination simply because they are offered together. If permanent makeup is suggested, consider it a separate pigmentation procedure and discuss its risks and limitations in advance.

When should you postpone cosmetic shaping?

If hair in the eyebrow area suddenly starts falling out, or an unexplained rash or other new skin changes appear, see a doctor first. Cosmetic concealment does not explain the cause of the change. Mention any previous reactions to dyes and any skin products you currently use before booking the procedure.

Sudden drooping on one side of the face is not a routine eyebrow-shaping concern. Call 112, especially if it is accompanied by speech difficulties or weakness in an arm. Do not wait for a salon consultation or cosmetic treatment in this situation.

Frequently asked questions

Can anyone promise perfectly matching eyebrows?

No. Before the procedure, discuss what changes can be planned with the hairs you have. Exact symmetry should not be promised as a guaranteed result.

Should I pluck the uneven areas myself before my appointment?

If you want to plan the shape together, it is better to show the brow specialist your eyebrows as they are first. That way, the discussion can be based on their current appearance rather than an attempt to restore hairs already removed.

Can a sparse area be filled in with tint?

Tinting can change the impression of color, but it does not create new hairs. Discuss what the result will look like and how it will differ from temporary makeup.

How should I care for my eyebrows after shaping?

Ask for instructions specific to the procedure performed and the products used. Plan your next appointment based on the result and the condition of the hairs, not solely on a generic schedule found online.
